Edlington Town Mayor Statement re today’s ‘Levelling up Bid’ announcement
Today I am extremely disappointed to learn that Edlington has been unsuccessful in the 'levelling up bid' that Doncaster Council submitted to the Government for the improvements to our town and for a new Leisure Centre.

Carol's in the Park - Christmas carol concert
The Town Council's Christmas "Carol's in the Park" concert takes place next Monday 12th at 6.30pm in the Miner's Memorial Garden on Edlington Lane next to the Yorkshire Main Community Centre. There will be performances from our local Primary Schools, St Mary's RC, Victoria & Hill Top Academies as well as from the Edling-tones community choir. Remembrance Sunday commemorations 13/11/22
This years' Remembrance Sunday commemorations will include the usual parade starting from the Helping Hands Community Centre leaving at 10.10am, supported by the Sheffield Pipe Band and involving local Cadet groups. Grainger Centre - available for hire
The Town Council have some availability for anyone wanting to hire the Grainger Centre for either one-off party bookings or regular weekly slots for any club/society or local community organisation that may be interested. Annual Governance and Accountability Return 2021/22
The Town Council have submitted it's draft annual return to the external auditor (PKF Littlejohn) - the annual governance statement and accounting statements for the year ending 31/3/22.
The public have the right to inspect the Council's financial records during the period 13/6/22 to 22/7/22 by contacting the Town Clerk.

Election of new Town Mayor - Steve Reardon
At yesterday afternoon's annual Town Council meeting, Councillor Steve Reardon was elected as Town Mayor for the year ahead (2022/23). Edlington Cemetery - 2022 Centenary Year
This year marks the centenary since the first interment in 1922 in Edlington Cemetery. To mark the occasion, the Town Mayor, Joan Briggs planted an oak tree, also marked with a commemorative plaque. The oak tree also being formally registered as part of the Queen's Jubilee canopy scheme. The planting event was also attended by Town Councillors Rob Reid, Jan Devanney and Victoria Whittemore.

Robert Reid - Awarded the Freedom of Edlington
At an extraordinary meeting of the Town Council yesterday, Cllr Rob Reid was awarded the honorary title of Freeman of the Parish of Edlington. The Town Mayor, Joan Briggs presented Rob with a freedom scroll and the occasion was marked with the attendance of family and friends as well as DMBC Elected Mayor Ros Jones to mark this honour and memorable occasion.

Edlington Parks & Green Spaces
On Thursday 21st April, 2022 Edlington Deputy Mayor Steve Reardon, Ward Councillor & Edlington Town Councillor Rob Reid along with Edlington Town Councillor Linda Smith conducted a walk round visit of all of the parks and green spaces across Edlington, this follows a number of complaints and issues raised about the poor condition and overall lack of pleasant parks in the area.
